Mining and agricultural company Hancock Prospecting has withdrawn its sponsorship agreement with Netball Australia following a high-profile clash with the national team players, as other sponsors have reaffirmed their commitment to the organisation.
Hancock’s deal, announced in September, was reported to be worth A$15m (€9.6m/$9.4m) with the company becoming Netball Australia's 'High Performance Programme Partner' until 2025. While energy company Origin remains the Diamonds’ naming rights partner, Hancock was due to debut on the team’s uniforms in the Constellation Cup series against New Zealand, which commenced on October 12.
