Another partner for IIHF World Championship

ACTAVIS HAS BEEN unveiled as an Official Sponsor of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF)’s World Championship.

The US-based pharmaceutical company has signed a two-year deal which will see it sponsor the 2013 event in Stockholm and Helsinki and the 2014 competition in Minsk, Belarus.

Under terms of the deal, brokered by sports marketing agency Infront Sports and Media, Actavis will receive a comprehensive rights package.

Specifically, the brand will have perimeter advertising in camera view at all 64 matches, brand exposure on the official event internet homepage and in all print materials, as well as hospitality and promotional opportunities in and around the arenas.

Actavis is the latest company to become a second-tier partner of the IIHF’s flagship event.

Document solutions company Kyocera signed a five-year deal in March to remain an Official Sponsor of the competition through 2017.

Other Official Sponsors include skin care product Nivea for Men, adhesive brand Henkel, telecoms operator MegaFon, sportswear manufacturer Nike, beer brand Ochota, Raiffeisen Bank International, watchmaker Tissot and consumer goods distributor Zepter.

Carmaker Skoda is the IIHF World Championship’s Official Main Sponsor.
