Adidas expands US college portfolio with Ohio

German sportswear giant Adidas has entered into a multi-year partnership with the athletics department of Ohio University in the US.

The deal will run for eight years, from the 2017-18 season through to the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Adidas will serve as the official athletic footwear, apparel, accessory and equipment brand of the university’s Bobcats varsity sports teams.

The deal will signal the end of a relationship between Ohio and US sports brand Russell Athletics. According to the Hustlebelt.com website, the deal, which began in 2007, is worth approximately $397,500 (€369,000) per year.

The Ohio agreement will expand Adidas’ US college portfolio, which also includes Rutgers University, North Carolina State, Arizona State and the University of California, Los Angeles.
