French multinational energy firm Total has entered into a one-year partnership with the World Rallycross Championship.
The deal names Total the official lubricant partner of the motor-racing series. The regional partnership will cover the Nordics, Germany, France, the UK and Argentina. The deal was brokered by the IMG agency.
Total is an existing partner of World RX team Peugeot-Hansen, the series’ defending champion. Under its expanded agreement with the series, Total will be granted the use of exclusive race footage for use in promotional content for Peugeot-Hansen, as well as a number of additional rights.
“This new regional partnership with IMG in the World RX provides a fantastic new opportunity for us to develop the visibility of our lubricant brand,” Eric Reverberi, rally and endurance director for Total Motorsport, said.
IMG said that it hopes the agreement will develop into a long-standing global association across both fuels and lubricants.
