Grocery retailer H-E-B has agreed a deal to become the first marquee sponsor of Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) franchise the San Antonio Silver Stars.
Under the deal, H-E-B’s logo will be displayed prominently on the front of player’s jerseys. The news comes shortly after a number of other WNBA teams also opted to sign similar jersey sponsorship deals.
Meanwhile, the franchise also announced that it is to drop the 'Silver' from its name and rebrand as the San Antonio Stars.
The team’s logos have been updated to cater for the rebrand, which will come into force for the 2014 season.
