Methodist Healthcare System has entered into a strategic partnership with Spurs Sports & Entertainment, through which it will sponsor the San Antonio Spurs NBA basketball franchise.
The deal, the length of which was not disclosed, names Methodist Healthcare as the official healthcare partner of the Spurs.
The company will also hold the same position with SS&E’s other franchises – NBA D-league team the Austin Spurs; United Soccer League club San Antonio FC; American Hockey League outfit the San Antonio Rampage, and Women’s National Basketball Association club the San Antonio Stars. It will hold a range of branding rights across the teams.
Under the agreement, SS&E will have access to Methodist Healthcare’s team of experts, nutritionists, physicians and facilities to help address injury prevention and physical rehabilitation.
A range of community-focused health and wellness initiatives will be launched as part of the deal.
