International basketball federation Fiba has appointed Unilumin as the official LED supplier for its top-level international competitions.
The partnership with the LED products and solutions provider will commence with August’s basketball World Cup 2019 in China, and run through till 2023, incorporating the next World Cup, co-hosted by Japan, Indonesia and the Phillippines.
The agreement was brokered by Fiba Marketing, a strategic partnership between Fiba and global sports marketing group Infront.
Unilumin will showcase their latest LED innovations in the eight World Cup venues in China. Unilumin will also develop a range of co-branded LED screens customised for basketball competitions, which will be launched on the market in 2020.
In June 2016, Fiba signed a long-term strategic partnership with Infront through to 2033. As part of the deal, Infront’s parent company, Wanda, is Fiba’s worldwide exclusive partner for the sale and marketing of global sponsorship and licensing rights in relation to four Fiba World Cup cycles.
Infront China is also a long-term partner of the Chinese Basketball Association.
The World Cup will be staged across eight Chinese cities from August 31 to September 15, 2019. It will mark the first time China has hosted the tournament.
