Euroleague signs snack partner, agrees Final Four deal with bookmaker

Euroleague Basketball, the governing body of continental club competitions in Europe, has entered into partnerships with baked goods company Chipita and Russian bookmaker Fonbet.

Chipita’s 7Days brand has been named the official snack of the Euroleague competition. Under the agreement, terms of which were not disclosed, the league and its players will collaborate with 7Days on a range of marketing campaigns.

Chipita partnered with the Euroleague in 2014, when 7Days was named the official snack of the competition’s Final Four end-of-season event.

Meanwhile, Fonbet has been named an official national betting partner of this year’s Final Four event, which begins tomorrow (Friday) in the German capital of Berlin and concludes on Sunday. The partnership will focus on the Final Four’s two Russian teams, CSKA Moscow and Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar, who face off in the first semi-final tomorrow.

Fonbet will receive advertising exposure through courtside LED panels and 3D stickers during the games involving the two sides.

“Having two Russian teams in the Final Four makes clear how important that country is to European basketball and makes Fonbet a welcome addition to our family of partners,” Euroleague Basketball’s chief business development officer Roser Queralto said. “Expanding that family with national partners helps reach more fans and also broaden earnings opportunities for our clubs.”

Both parties have said they are open to further collaboration beyond the Final Four.
