UL backs USA Rugby, World Cup Sevens

Safety consulting company UL has entered into a partnership with USA Rugby, and also agreed a deal to sponsor next year’s Rugby World Cup Sevens event in San Francisco.

As a premier partner of USA Rugby, UL’s branding will feature on the back of the men’s and women’s national team kits. The deal covers both sevens and 15s squads.

The company will also serve as a global partner of the 2018 World Cup Sevens, which takes place from July 20-22 at AT&T Park, home of Major League Baseball team the San Francisco Giants.

UL will be granted IP rights and hospitality at USA Rugby events, including the Rugby World Cup Sevens. Further benefits will include exclusive content and branding, access to players and an inventory of media rights.

The deals were brokered by Rugby International Marketing, USA Rugby’s commercial arm. Terms were not disclosed.

UL president and chief executive, Keith Williams, said: “As a global organisation that prides itself on performance and excellence, this is a great opportunity for us to show our support for such an outstanding athletic organisation that promotes men's and women's sports worldwide.”
