Formula One motor racing team Toro Rosso has extended its partnership with hybrid cloud data protection company Acronis following a successful collaboration between the two parties at last weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix.
The exact length of the new long-term deal was not disclosed, although it will at least cover the 2017 F1 season.
Under the agreement, Acronis’ branding will appear on the team’s cars during race weekends and on the race suits of its drivers, Daniil Kvyat and Carlos Sainz.
The company’s technology will also be used by Toro Rosso’s IT department during, and in preparation for, race weekends.
“In our competitive environment it is becoming increasingly more important to protect all our technical information with a very high standard of software and Acronis can offer exactly what we need,” team principal Franz Tost said. “Now that we have a long-term project together, we can’t wait to start working with Acronis, not only on a sponsorship level, but also in terms of adopting their data protection products within our factory and race team.”
Toro Rosso acted as the launch partner for the company’s new Acronis Backup 12 system during the Hungarian Grand Prix.
