Football Federation Australia has reached an agreement for telecommunications company Telstra to be the front-of-shirt sponsor when its A-League All Stars play Italian Serie A champion Juventus at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium on August 10.
Telstra joins other partners of the select team from Australia’s top football division, including pay television and cable provider Foxtel, commercial broadcaster Seven Network, tourism authority Destination NSW and sportswear manufacturer BLK. Seven is the A-League All Stars' official broadcaster partner, BLK is the kit provider and Foxtel serves as title sponsor.
Financial terms were not disclosed for the deal, which expands Telstra’s existing relationship with Australian football’s governing body. Over the past year, it has collaborated with FFA on the Thanks Loyalty Program, which offers ticket pre-sales and upgrades for A-League games to Telstra customers.
FFA chief executive David Gallop said: “To have a blue-chip partner such as Telstra come on board as the front of shirt sponsor of the A-League All Stars is fantastic for the team and for football. Over the past year we have been working with Telstra in relation to a number of initiatives and their involvement with the A-League All Stars is another way of continuing their relationship with FFA.”
