Arsenal claims first with cryptocurrency partnership

English Premier League football club Arsenal has unveiled a partnership with CashBet, a cryptocurrency-enabled digital gaming platform provider.

The deal has been secured by CashBet to coincide with an Initial Coin Offering of the provider’s new cryptocurrency, CashBet Coin, which is designed specifically for so-called iGaming.

Under the agreement, CashBet Coin will be the club’s exclusive Blockchain partner, with Arsenal becoming the first major football team to link up with a cryptocurrency.

CashBet Coin will have prominent branding placements inside Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.

Mike Reaves, chief executive and founder of CashBet, said: “With our ICO for CashBet Coin, we are actively targeting a global, multi-billion-dollar marketplace of iGaming content providers, operators and players. We are delighted to do so in partnership with one of world football’s true giants in Arsenal, enabling us to build our brand and engage this audience in a meaningful way.”

The ICO pre-sale began yesterday and will end on February 20, with the public sale running from March 20 to April 27.
