SuisseGas has opted to extend its title sponsorship of the Milan Marathon for a further two years until 2015, following a successful sponsorship of the 2013 event.
The energy company took over from Barclays as title sponsor for this year’s edition of the annual event, which took place on April 7 in the Italian city. Organised by RCS Sport, the 2013 men’s race was won by Ethiopian Worku Biru Gemenchu, while Kenya’s Monica Jepkoech clinched first place in the women’s race.
SuisseGas is currently active in a number of sports, and the extended deal with the Milan Marathon will further strengthen its presence in the sports sponsorship market.
The confirmation comes shortly after last week’s news that SuisseGas had struck a deal with MotoGP's Yamaha Factory Racing to become an official sponsor of the team for the rest of the 2013 season.
