Finance automation software provider SoftCo has agreed a deal to sponsor Ireland’s women’s hockey team during the upcoming World Cup in London.
SoftCo’s branding will feature on the team’s jerseys during the national team tournament, which runs from July 21 to August 5.
It will mark the first time that an Irish team has qualified for a Hockey World Cup since 2002. Ireland will compete in Group B against England, USA and India.
Hockey Ireland has also organised ‘SoftCo Series’ preparation matches against Canada, which will take place at Pembroke Wanderers Hockey Club on June 15-16.
Hockey Ireland chief executive Jerome Pels said: “Hockey Ireland was in need of major investment to help our squad’s preparation for the 2018 World Cup. SoftCo has answered that call and injected vital funds into our organisation which will have a direct impact on the women’s team as they fine-tune their World Cup preparations.”
SoftCo is headquartered in Dublin and has offices in Boston, Manchester and Helsinki.
