Scana energises new Atlanta Falcons stadium

Natural gas marketer and energy supplier Scana Energy has signed on as a founding partner of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the future home of NFL American football team the Atlanta Falcons.

Scana will serve as the exclusive natural gas provider of the 71,000-capacity stadium, which is due to open next year.

The company will provide natural gas services for the stadium, as well as facilities belonging to the Falcons and Major League Soccer expansion franchise Atlanta United, which will also play its home games at the ground.

To mark the partnership, Scana is offering supporters of the two clubs the chance to win an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium. Winners will meet a Falcons player, mascot Freddie Falcon and Falcons cheerleaders, and will also participate in photo opportunities and receive Falcons and United merchandise.

“Many of our Scana Energy customers are passionate Falcons fans and Atlanta United supporters, so we feel this is a great opportunity to share an exclusive tour as part of our alliance,” George Devlin, vice-president and general manager of Scana, said. “Joining the Mercedes-Benz Stadium founding partners will deepen Scana Energy’s long-standing partnership with the Falcons and our commitment to the Atlanta community.”

Scana, which has served as the official natural gas provider of the Falcons since 2013, becomes the 10th founding partner of Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
