ORGANISERS OF THE 2013 Omegawave World Triathlon San Diego have named six official partners for the event, which is slated for April 18-20, in Mission Beach, California.
The six companies are Amtrak; Competitor Group; Gatorade; GU Energy; Moment Cycle Sport and TYR Sport.
- Amtrak is America's intercity passenger rail service and high-speed rail operator.
- Competitor Group (CGI) is a media and event entertainment company for active lifestyles.
- Pepsi-owned Gatorade Endurance Formula is a sports drink.
- GU Energy Gel is an easy-to-digest energy source for athletes.
- Moment Cycle Sport is a bicycle mechanic service.
- TYR engineers technical apparel and equipment for swimmers and triathletes.
One of just eight ITU World Triathlon Series events around the globe in 2013, the event is co-produced by USA Triathlon and the Hamburg, Germany-based UpSolut Sports AG and Lagardère Unlimited.
Separately, the San Diego-based Challenged Athletes Foundation has been named the Title Sponsor of the 2013 CAF World Paratriathlon San Diego, running alongside the Omegawave World Triathlon, on April 20.
The 2013 ITU paratriathlon calendar, which includes the CAF World Paratriathlon San Diego, will cover at least nine cities on five continents, and includes a series of international and continental races.
