Samsung selects Juventus as Italian football partner

KOREAN ELECTRONICS manufacturer Samsung strengthened its presence in European football this week after agreeing a sponsorship deal with Italian football team Juventus.

Samsung will become the technological partner of the current Serie A champions, joining the third tier of club partners.

The brand’s logo will be visible on the club’s major communication platforms, including the official website, while it will also be shown on the pitch-side LED displays at the recently-opened Juventus Stadium and the club’s training ground.

Already the shirt sponsor of Chelsea in the Premier League and a premium sponsor of Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, Samsung’s sponsorship of Juventus extends the brand’s association to some of Europe’s most high profile teams.

Chelsea has also been in action on the commercial front this week, strengthening its ties to the Russian market by agreeing a three-year partnership with Azimut Hotels.

In July, Russian energy giant Gazprom became the global energy partner of the European champions in a three-year deal, while Azimut will become its official European hotel partner – a move which Chelsea’s chief executive, Ron Gourlay, will hope to further enhance the club’s presence in the country.
