Korean electronics giant Samsung has agreed a deal with North American basketball league the NBA to become the presenting partner of its Global Games Mexico City 2013 event.
On December 4, Minnesota Timberwolves and San Antonio Spurs will face off at the Mexico City Arena, the second NBA regular-season game in Mexico City after Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks met back in 1997.
The match will be the league’s 21st in Mexico overall – the most held in any country by the NBA outside of the US and Canada.
As presenting partner, Samsung will receive prominent brand exposure in Mexico City during the weeks leading up to the game as well as in-arena signage and on-court fan activities on the day of the game. Samsung will also host several of its partners at the game and provide a variety of VIP experiences.
The partnership around NBA Global Games Mexico City 2013 follows a recently announced multi-year marketing and technology partnership that makes Samsung the official handset, tablet, and television provider of the NBA, Women’s NBA, and NBA Development League in North America.
Along with Samsung serving as the presenting partner, this year’s NBA Global Games Mexico will be supported by Adidas, Bimbo, Gatorade, Kir, Lusacell, Sprite and 2K Sports.
