Chinese state-owned automotive manufacturer SAIC Motor has signed up as an official partner for the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games as the event looks to press home its green agenda.
SAIC Motor is Nanjing 2014’s exclusive motor vehicle partner and will provide “clean technology vehicles” to help the summer edition of the multi-sport showpiece lower its environmental impact.
Nanjing 2014 will receive 1,000 vehicles of various types that will be used for support services during the Games, including 300 Sunwin Buses to compliment other green transport offerings to the public such as the Nanjing Metro and bicycle rental kiosks.
The Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games run from August 16-28 and will feature more than 3,800 athletes competing across 28 sports.
