Swiss watchmaker Rolex has extended its sponsorship deal with World Sailing, the sport’s global governing body.
The fresh agreement encompasses title sponsorship of the 2016 World Sailor of the Year Awards, an event that Rolex has backed since 2001.
Rolex will also continue its sponsorship of the Racing Rules of Sailing, the publication that governs the sport on the water. The 2017-2020 edition was published on July 4.
The 2016 Rolex World Sailing of the Year Awards event will take place during the World Sailing Annual Conference in Barcelona, Spain in November.
New Zealand's 49er duo Peter Burling and Blair Tuke won the 2015 men’s award, while Britain’s Sarah Ayton was awarded the female title.
