The International 49er and 49erFX sailing classes have extended a partnership with apparel manufacturer Magic Marine.
Under the deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, Magic Marine will retain its role as the official clothing partner of both classes.
Magic Marine will supply 49er and 49erFX classes and sailors with various apparel and equipment, while branded racing vests will also be provided to each competing team.
In addition, Magic Marine will sponsor the top teams in each class and offer on-site championship merchandise to supporters in attendance.
Magic Marine will also benefit from branding placement at all 49er and 49erFX championship venues as well as on all associated websites, social media, media communications and video distribution channels.
First selected as the new men’s skiff event for the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, the 49er is now a mainstay of the 10 events on the Olympic sailing programme. The 49erFX Class for women will make its debut appearance at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Both classes have also been confirmed for inclusion at the 2020 Olympic Games.
