Swiss watchmaker Rolex has extended its title sponsorship of Formula One’s Australian Grand Prix for a fourth consecutive year.
The season opener of the motor racing championship’s 2016 campaign will be held in Melbourne from March 17-20.
Rolex has an established presence across the Formula One season having replaced fellow Swiss brand Hublot as the official timepiece and official timekeeper of the series in December 2012.
Rolex communication and image director Arnaud Boetsch said: “Our unique partnership with the Formula One Australian Grand Prix is the culmination of the brand’s history of close ties with the exciting world of motor sport and speed. Now launching our fourth season with Formula One, we share a passion for performance, precision and innovation, founded on our pursuit of excellence in technology.”
In September, the Victoria state government sealed a fresh three-year extension to its contract for the Australian Grand Prix, ensuring the country’s round of the F1 championship will remain in Melbourne until 2023.
