Brazilian company Localiza has been named the official car rental partner of the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Under the agreement, Localiza will provide a fleet of 165 Nissan cars and an intelligence team for the 90-day Olympic torch relay, which will pass through 300 Brazilian cities in the months preceding the Games.
Localiza will also supply vehicles during the Games itself for use by accredited officials.
Japanese car manufacturer Nissan has already been confirmed as a Rio 2016 sponsor and will provide Games organisers with 4,000 vehicles during the event itself.
The torch relay begins in the Brazilian capital of Brasilia on May 3 and will conclude on August 5 during the Games’ opening ceremony at the Maracaña stadium in Rio.
