Premiership Rugby, the governing body of the top division of English rugby union, has agreed a two-year sponsorship deal with breakdown provider Green Flag.
The partnership will aim to help Green Flag raise awareness of its strength in local conurbations by delivering on-the-ground initiatives at all 12 Premiership clubs.
As part of the sponsorship deal, Green Flag will engage rugby fans through free motor 'health-checks' in club car parks, to help fans reduce the risk of breaking down. Free travel advice will also be offered in the form of real-time alerts, providing away fans with live travel updates.
Dominic Hayes, commercial director of Premiership Rugby, said: “Our new partnership with Green Flag is a clear demonstration of the tremendous growth in interest in Premiership Rugby as we enter a golden era for rugby union in England. This season we have seen a huge rise in audiences on both ITV and BT Sport and, in addition to this, our online traffic and social media interaction are also at record levels.”
