UK pay-television broadcaster BT Sport has agreed a four-year partnership with Scottish Rugby in a deal that includes the shirt sponsorship of Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh Rugby for the Pro12 and Heineken Cup competitions.
The new sport broadcaster’s logo will be displayed on the front of both clubs’ jerseys throughout both competitions. The deal will commence from August and runs until 2017.
BT and BT Sport will also be promoted at the teams’ two home grounds: Scotstoun Stadium and Murrayfield Stadium. Telecommunications company BT will also work with Scottish Rugby to enhance match day experience for fans at both stadiums as part of the deal.
Marc Watson, chief executive of television for BT Retail, said: “This is part of our long-term commitment to rugby, where we see great growth potential in the coming years.”
