The NFL has confirmed an expansion of its sponsorship agreement with Bose that makes the US audio equipment manufacturer the official headphone and headset provider for the American football league.
Bose takes up a designation that lay dormant last year following the conclusion of the NFL’s 13-year partnership with telecommunications firm Motorola.
The manufacturer will design and engineer new headsets for all NFL coaches to use in-game, along with enhancing sideline and booth communications in a variety of areas, including play-calling and instant replay.
Increased television visibility through headset branding is set to be a key benefit of the enhanced agreement for Bose, which will continue to serve as the official home audio and speaker sponsor of the NFL as it has done since 2011.
The terms of the deal were undisclosed, while the NFL is set to announce additional details on the new Bose headset ahead of the 2014 season.
