The Australian National Basketball League has teamed up with the Alcatel OneTouch smartphone and tablet brand ahead of the upcoming 2015-16 season.
Alcatel OneTouch will become the league’s official smartphone and tablet partner under a multi-year deal.
As part of the contract, Alcatel OneTouch products will be showcased at NBL matches throughout the 2015-16 campaign. NBL players will also partake in promotional events for Alcatel’s latest products.
The deal ties in with the league’s focus on becoming more digitally relevant.
Jeremy Loeliger, NBL general manager, said: “The NBL is currently developing a digital content hub as part of our rebranding so we are able to provide a new generation of fans with 24/7 content – which is almost exclusively consumed on a mobile or tablet device. Alcatel OneTouch complements our new strategy perfectly in this way.”
Alcatel OneTouch regional managing director Sam Skontos added: “Australian basketball fans are among the biggest consumers of digital content globally per capita, content that can be enjoyed on our devices that deliver the latest technology in an affordable manner.”
The 2015-16 NBL season gets underway on October 7.
