MotoGP boosted by Monster Energy extension

Drinks brand Monster Energy has extended a sponsorship deal with the MotoGP motorcycling championship.

The new three-year agreement covers the 2017 to 2019 seasons. Monster Energy struck the deal with Dorna Sports, MotoGP’s commercial rights-holder.

Under the agreement, Monster Energy will retain title sponsorship rights to the Catalan and Czech Grands Prix for the next three years. The races are held in Barcelona and Brno, respectively.

The company will also continue to receive on-track branding exposure and organise promotional activities in and around the paddock on race weekends throughout the rest of the MotoGP season.

Pau Serracanta, managing director of Dorna Sports’ commercial area, said: “It’s good to see Monster Energy’s continued commitment to MotoGP. Their support has helped many GPs and riders over the years and to see them renew and continue their support is a point of pride.”

The 2016 MotoGP season continues this weekend with the San Marino Grand Prix.
