Sports equipment and flooring manufacturer Mondo has extended its long-term partnership with the International Association of Athletics Federations.
Mondo has been a technical partner of the IAAF since 1987 and the new eight-year deal spans 2016 to 2024.
The company will produce and install the competition surfaces used at the IAAF’s Outdoor and Indoor World Championships during this period, along with Class 1 and Class 2 IAAF Certified Facilities.
“The world governing body of athletics is proud to count Mondo as an IAAF official supplier and to renew its long term partnership,” outgoing IAAF president Lamine Diack said.
“The IAAF World Athletics Series of events continues to benefit from the quality and technical expertise of Mondo. Its sports surfaces are globally recognised as being at the cutting edge having been the stage for some memorable athletics performances."
Mondo will supply the athletics track for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games under an agreement with Augusto Velloso, the firm overseeing the construction of the Engenhão Olympic Stadium. It has an established Olympic presence, including the previous two editions – Beijing 2008 and London 2012.
