Formula One motor racing team Mercedes has entered into a partnership with Swiss cycling apparel and equipment company Assos.
The deal was announced for the 2014 season and beyond and Assos will supply the team for its cycling training, which plays a central role in the fitness programmes of team members.
In its role as a team supplier, Assos will also work with Mercedes to develop cycling technologies inspired by Formula One. Assos plans to launch a series of Mercedes licensed products in 2015.
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has won the past three F1 grand prix. Hamilton’s team-mate Nico Rosberg leads the Brit at the top of the drivers’ championship by four points.
