LPGA goes virtual with new partner

The Ladies Professional Golf Association has entered into a new partnership with Korean golf equipment manufacturer and retailer Golfzon.

The deal will run for three years, from 2015 through 2017.

Under the agreement, Golfzon will become the official golf simulator partner of the LPGA.

Golfzon will also benefit from a presence at several LPGA tournaments as well as on multiple LPGA platforms including the official LPGA Tour website and the governing body’s social media channels.

In addition, Golfzon has donated two of its Golfzon Driving Range systems to the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club, host of the LPGA Tour’s Malaysia event.

LPGA chief commercial officer Jon Podany said: “Golfzon is a unique company that really focuses on ‘playing different.’ From their simulator business to being the largest golf retailer in Korea, Golfzon continues to expand its business areas and platforms to different areas of golf to help grow this great game. This partnership is an exciting first step between the two organisations as we look forward to working together on several groundbreaking projects.”
