LaLiga, which operates the top two divisions of Spanish football, has entered into a partnership with Ballr, an engagement technology company that specialises in fantasy sports.
The three-year agreement runs until 2020 and will result in LaLiga and Ballr developing a digital game for supporters.
The platform will give fans of LaLiga the opportunity to compete against one another to win prizes.
Ballr has a major presence in the Asia-Pacific region, an area that LaLiga is strategically targeting and where the competition has a significant fan base.
Adolfo Bara, LaLiga’s managing director of sales, marketing and sponsorship, said: “LaLiga is committed to improving the fans’ experience and Ballr shares those values with us, which is why we want to build a sponsorship relationship together over three years.”
