Krombacher renews with DFL Sports Enterprises

GERMAN BEER BRAND Krombacher has extended its Official Partner contract with the German Football League (DFL) for another four years until the end of the 2016/17 season.

Partners since the start of the 2008/09 Bundesliga season, the deal highlights Krombacher’s long-term association with German football, which ranges from sponsorship of Bundesliga clubs Eintracht Frankfurt and VfB Stuttgart to title sponsorship of the regional Krombacher Cup competition.

"We believe that the strongest professional league in Germany and the most popular, best-selling beer of the Germans simply belong together," said Uwe Riehs, marketing manager of Krombacher.

Jörg Daubitzer, CEO of DFL Sports Enterprises, the league’s commercial arm, added: "Its [Krombacher’s] strong brand image fits perfectly with the Bundesliga."

The sponsorship package between the DFL and Krombacher includes use of the DFL logo in promotions, as well online advertising on www.bundesliga.de, print advertising in DFL publications and a comprehensive ticket allocation.
