The Irish Sailing Association has announced a four-year sponsorship deal with oil and gas exploration and production company Providence Resources.
The deal follows a six-month partnership that provided the team with resources in preparation for the 2012 London Olympics. The new contract runs up to the Rio Games in 2016.
The Irish sailing team will be named Providence Team IRL for the next four years and joint branding will be rolled out over the coming weeks.
The Irish sailing team enjoyed its most successful Olympics for 30 years in 2012 with fourth, 10th and 14th place finishes.
