Airport retailer Dubai Duty Free has agreed a title sponsorship deal with the Irish Open European Tour golf tournament.
The deal is initially for a year, with an option to extend.
The May 28-31 event at Royal County Down will feature Northern Irish major winners Rory McIlroy (pictured), Graeme McDowell and Darren Clarke, alongside Ryder Cup stars Rickie Fowler, Sergio Garcia and Lee Westwood.
It will be hosted by McIlroy’s charitable organisation, the Rory Foundation, and the world No.1 ranked player said: “It’s great news that Dubai Duty Free has come on board as the title sponsor for this year’s Irish Open. Dubai Duty Free is a strong global brand with great experience in sports sponsorship through golf, tennis and horse racing.”
Dubai Duty Free is one year into its latest three-year term as a patron of the European Tour’s Dubai Desert Classic event. It is also a corporate patron of the Emirates Golf Federation and is the title sponsor of its UAE National Cup, Golf Cup and Free Seniors Cup.
