ING, BMW AND ITTF pick up 360 Awards

ING BANK'S ING Lockerwall campaign and Octagon’s BMW Drive For Team USA were honoured at the International Sports Marketing 360 Awards.

The ING Lockerwall – a free service set up by the bank in association with the Johan Cruyff Foundation in Gdansk, Poland, for fans to keep valuables safe during UEFA Euro 2012 – picked up the ‘Innovation in Sports Marketing’ award while Drive For Team USA picked up the ‘Partnership of the Year’ award.

Drive for Team USA, a national driving programme, served as the retail launch of BMW’s partnership with the United States Olympic Committee and gave specially-invited guests a full walk through of the latest BMW technologies at 277 one-day, dealer-hosted test drive events in 2011 (see infographic).

Meanwhile, the International Table Tennis Federation’s (ITTF) Ping Pong Paix project picked up the ‘Innovation in Sports Marketing’ accolade at yesterday’s inaugural International Sports Marketing 360 Awards sponsored by Clipper Ventures.

The project, carried out in partnership with CSR initiative Peace and Sport, the German Table Tennis Federation and table tennis equipment manufacturer Butterfly, enables members of four youth centres in Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo to play table tennis at least twice a week in a structured and supervised environment.

The mission is to support the demobilisation of child soldiers and bring together children from different villages with tribal and ethnic conflicts.
