IMSA drinks up Patron backing for endurance events

Mexican-based spirits company Patron Spirits International has reached a multi-year agreement with the International Motor Sports Association to sponsor the motor racing sanctioning body’s flagship endurance properties.

Under the deal, Tequila Patrón becomes the entitlement partner of the four-race North American Endurance Cup – part of the United SportsCar Championship, which, along with the IMSA, counts Patron as its official spirits partner.

In addition, Tequila Patrón will continue its primary sponsorship of the two-car Extreme Speed Motorsports team in the prototype class, as well as its title sponsorship of the United SportsCar Championship event in Long Beach, California on April 11.

The 2014 United SportsCar Championship opens on January 25-26 at Daytona International Speedway, Florida with the Rolex 24 at Daytona – the first of the year’s American Endurance Cup races.
