The International Handball Federation (IHF) has received 13 letters of intent from bidders interested in hosting the 2019 men’s and women’s World Championships.
Applicants for the men’s tournament are Denmark, Germany, Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Slovakia and Sweden. Letters of intent were also received from Japan, Macedonia, Norway, Slovakia, Tunisia and Ukraine for the women’s 2019 event.
Bidders must submit a general concept for the events, including playing conditions, promotion, logistics, security and sustainability to the IHF by September 2, 2013.
At the beginning of October all bidding federations will present their applications at the IHF headquarters in Basel, before the body’s council awards the championships on October 28, 2013.
