Honda fought off strong competition in the tender to find a new England Rugby automotive sponsor, SportBusiness understands.
The Japanese auto brand agreed a multi-year contract which was announced in September. While neither rights-holder nor brand would comment on the value of the deal, industry sources indicate it is worth £1.5m (€1.8m/$2m) per year, approximately 50 per cent in cash and 50 per cent value-in-kind through the provision of a fleet of vehicles to England’s Rugby Football Union.
