GPS technology firm Garmin has agreed a global partnership with English Premier League football club Southampton.
Garmin will serve as Southampton’s official navigation and fitness device partner under the deal, the terms of which were not disclosed.
Garmin’s European headquarters are in Southampton and the company’s UK general manager Dawn Ramsay said: “By teaming up with Southampton, we hope to inspire football fans to see the benefits of a healthy, active way of life as well as enjoying the beautiful game.”
Southampton begins the 2014-15 season under new manager Ronald Koeman having secured an impressive eighth-place finish last term. Earlier this week it reached an agreement to make UK bookmaker William Hill its official betting partner.
