Formula One motor racing team Force India has confirmed a multi-year sponsorship deal with Latin American insurance group Inter.
As part of the team’s 2015 season launch in Mexico City last week, Inter’s branding was revealed on the front wing end plates of Force India’s VJM08 car. The team has now announced that the company’s logo will also feature on driver’s racesuits and team clothing.
Inter’s major market is Mexico and it adds to Force India’s significant commercial presence in the country, owing to its re-signing of Mexican driver Sergio Perez for 2015.
Perez’s new deal last November heralded renewed commercial agreement with telecommunications company America Movil and its Claro and Telcel brands, both of which are represented on the Force India car alongside tequila manufacturer Jose Cuervo.
Juan Ignacio Casanueva, chief executive of Inter, said: “The way the team has opened up to Mexico in recent years shows how they, too, believe in the strength of this market and in the role the country can play on the world stage. We have a long history of supporting Mexican talent in various categories of motorsport so it’s exciting to partner with a team with a Mexican driver in the year that Formula One returns to Mexico City after a 23-year absence.”
