Ferrari adds UPS as new livery partner

GLOBAL LOGISTICS company UPS has signed on as an Official Sponsor of the Ferrari Formula One (F1) team.

Under terms of the multi-year deal, UPS will have a significant presence throughout the F1 season, including visibility on the cars driven by Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa and their racing overalls, as well as on the team’s fleet of transporters and trackside equipment.

UPS also becomes the Official Logistics and Shipping Sponsor of the Ferrari team and will provide delivery and transportation services.

“Being a part of Scuderia Ferrari helps reinforce the UPS brand globally, positively impacting our business both on and off the track, and by investing in key growth markets around the world,” said Christine Owens, UPS senior vice president, communications and brand management.

The deal follows a flurry of commercial partnerships in the pre-season period for Ferrari, headlined by its first Chinese partner, energy company Weichai Power.

Anti-virus software Kaspersky Lab and energy drink TNT also extended their deals with the team, while Swiss watchmaker Hublot upgraded its partnership from an Official Supplier to an Official Sponsor in a long-term deal.

UPS meanwhile, will face competition for brand supremacy in the logistics category in Formula One as DHL is a Global Partner of Formula One Management.
