Thai-based sports apparel and equipment company FBT has reached a deal to serve as the official uniform partner for the 2015 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Singapore.
FBT will produce more than 70,000 pieces of clothing worth in excess of SGD$1.5m (€925,000/$1.2m) – taking the multi-sport event closer to its target of SGD$50m in sponsorship revenue and in-kind services combined.
Additionally, FBT will sponsor the Singapore National Sports Association for Pétanque and Sports Boules for four years from 2015.
Monchai Chokephaibulkit, deputy managing director at FBT, said: “The 2015 Singapore SEA Games will be the largest sponsorship that we have ever invested into a SEA Games to date, and we look forward to establishing FBT as a regional brand for Southeast Asia.
“We hold a special relationship with pétanque and believe that the sport has a lot of potential to grow in the Southeast Asian region. So, we have committed to help the local national sports association, Pétanque and Sports Boules, to promote and cultivate the sport in Singapore for the next four years.”
The 2015 edition of the multi-sport event will take place from June 5-16, with Singapore Sports Hub acting as its main venue.
