Fantasy sports company FanDuel has expanded its presence in North American basketball league the NBA by becoming an official sponsor of the Los Angeles Lakers.
FanDuel has signed a fully-integrated marketing agreement with the Lakers that will see it promoted through online content and closed-circuit television broadcasts.
Nigel Eccles, chief executive of FanDuel, said: “The Lakers have such a rich history, are a storied franchise and have a great fan base in a major market. They're an ideal partner for us as we continue to target sports fans across the country.”
FanDuel recently signed a four-year exclusive daily fantasy deal with the NBA basketball league, and last week sealed a marketing agreement with NFL American football franchise Washington Redskins. It also partnered with Lakers rival the Orlando Magic in August.
FanDuel has more than 1.1 million active users and expects to generate nearly $60m (€48m) in revenue this year.
