Group purchasing organisation Essensa has agreed a five-year renewal to its partnership with Minor League Baseball.
Under the deal, MiLB will have access to discounts on a range of products and services used in day-to-day business operations such as foodservice, office supplies, telecommunications equipment and facility management.
Essensa’s affiliation with healthcare company Premier also enables MiLB to access an extensive portfolio, contract enhancements and rebates, in addition to regional contracts.
In addition, Essensa will regularly analyse MiLB's total business spend, track spending patterns, identify savings opportunities and ensure the organisation, its leagues and clubs that elect to participate are paying lower prices for the same products.
Since first linking up with MiLB in 2010, Essensa has signed a total of 114 MiLB teams.
Essensa will also become a sponsor of the Baseball Winter Meetings annual convention attended by MiLB and Major League Baseball executives.
Minor League Baseball is the governing body for all professional baseball teams in the United States, Canada, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic that are affiliated with Major League Baseball clubs through their farm systems.
