Italian energy company Enel has renewed its sponsorship of the leader’s pink jersey in the Giro d’Italia for three more years, from 2019 to 2021.
Speaking to the Italian sports newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Nicola Lanzetta, the head of Italy market for Enel, said that the sponsorship was important to the brand for three reasons: the passion and the spectacle of the live event; the importance of the Italian market to Enel; and the opportunity to cooperate on technological research.
Lanzetta added: “With the Giro and our sponsorship of the pink jersey I believe that the Italians have seen Enel from another point of view. And I assure you that there has also been an important participation by the employees of our company.”
