DHB gains BASF support ahead of World Cup

International chemical company BASF has agreed to become a partner of the German Hockey Federation (DHB) until the end of 2020.

Under the deal, national players will have the opportunity to take part in internships at BASF. The company will allow players time off for training and matches.

In addition, the BASF logo will be displayed on the jersey collar of all A-squad and U-21 squad players as well as on all official tracksuits.

BASF will also benefit from branding placement on perimeter advertising boards during official A-squad international matches, four-nation tournaments and championship finals.

The deal will cover the upcoming Men’s Hockey World Cup and Women’s Hockey World Cup national team tournaments in which Germany will participate. The men's tournament runs from May 31 until June 15 while the women's event will take place from May 31 to June 14. Both events will be hosted in The Hague, the Netherlands.

The Germany men’s national hockey team finished as runner-up of the 2010 edition of the men's tournament after losing 2-1 to Australia in the final. The Germany women’s team finished fourth at the tournament.
