Professional and financial services company Deloitte has agreed a wide-ranging sponsorship deal with the United States Tennis Association.
As part of the multi-year agreement, Deloitte will sponsor the US teams at the Davis Cup and Fed Cup national teams, as well as the US Open grand slam tournament. The deal also names Deloitte as the first-ever sponsor of the US Open Wheelchair Competition.
As a sponsor of the US Davis and Fed Cup teams, Deloitte’s branding will feature on players’ warm-up jackets. The company will also support US team events in markets where the tournaments are taking place.
Deloitte will also work with the USTA to revamp the body’s core enterprise digital technology and build its grassroots digital capabilities.
A suite of products will be developed to help the USTA better connect with players and encourage more people to take up the sport. Deloitte will also support USTA initiatives and assets, including community-focused programmes.
Gordon Smith, the USTA’s chief operating officer and executive director, said: “They have a world-class team and by collaborating to support world-class tennis events, Deloitte will help the USTA realise its mission of growing the sport of tennis in the US.”
The US Davis Cup team begins its 2017 campaign against Switzerland in Birmingham, Alabama on February 3. The Fed Cup team’s 2017 season begins against Germany in Maui, Hawaii on February 11.
