Online betting company Dafabet has extended its title sponsorship agreement with World Snooker for the Masters tournament by a further three years.
Under the agreement, the competition will continue to be officially known as the Dafabet Masters until 2020. Dafabet has sponsored the tournament since 2014.
John Cruces, head of sports marketing and sponsorships at Dafabet, said: “While we already had the title sponsorship for the 2017 tournament, we wanted to extend our deal sooner rather than later ensuring we tied down such a prestigious sporting event.
“We want Dafabet to become synonymous with the Masters, so knowing now we’ll be title sponsor for a minimum of seven years can only help our aim.”
Ronnie O’Sullivan is the defending Masters champion, having defeated Barry Hawkins 10-1 in this year’s final at London’s Alexandra Palace. The 2017 tournament will take place at the same venue from January 15-22.
The Masters is one of snooker’s ‘Triple Crown’ events alongside the UK Championship and the World Championship.
