German automotive manufacturer Audi has reached an agreement to become the official vehicle partner of Cricket South Africa and the governing body's national team.
Under the deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, Audi will benefit from in-stadia and television branding exposure at South Africa’s home matches.
The agreement has been struck ahead of South Africa’s Test match series against the West Indies, which begins tomorrow (Wednesday) in Centurion.
The company’s sponsorship package extends to the naming rights for the Audi Performance Tracker and Audi Speedgun, which give insight into player performances for television viewers.
Paul Sansom, head of Audi South Africa, said: “Audi South Africa is delighted to be the official vehicle partner of the Proteas and are certain this partnership will allow us to not only expand our business in South Africa, but will also attract new supporters to cricket as the team prepares for the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2015.”
